People spend very little time engaging with content. Company blogs have been proven again and again to do wonders for businesses. Among other things, having a company blog will improve your SEO and allows you to become seen as an expert in your field. If someone hits their back button immediately after landing on a page, it tells Google in black-and-white: this is low quality page. That’s why Google uses “dwell time” to size up your content’s quality. Your personal opinion can be interesting and valuable, especially if you have been in a specific field for a long time. But, if you want to become an authority and earn a lot of backlinks, you will have to show facts and stats.

Real results you say?

Link building is also spreading brand awareness and capturing referral traffic. Most people never click beyond the first page of results (which only shows 10 web pages), meaning there will be little/no traffic for those ranking in positions 11+. Therefore, simply being indexed won’t necessarily bring organic traffic. Write a description that would both inform and interest users if they saw your description meta tag as a snippet in a search result. When a website wants a piece of content to be representative of a “thing” – like a profile page, an event page, or a job posting – its code needs to be marked up properly.

Add analytics tracking to your site

The first thing you need to do is figure out who your ideal customer is. Think about where they are and the problems they are facing. What questions do they have that need answers? Once you have a clear picture of their issues in your mind, you should tailor your content to them. Over the years I've seen webmasters and SEOs being concerned over boilerplate content, such as repetitive legal disclaimers or navigation on the header or footer of your pages. But Google time and time again has said they can handle it and they don't penalize for this type of content. When we talk about trust through age, we're talking about the indexed age (i.e. the time since Google originally found you). But, more importantly, what happened over the time since Google discovered your site or page. While building a better search engine optimization strategy, having a description tag that is efficient is a good way to bring searchers to your website. The content in this area shouldn’t exceed 30 words. Never exceed 100 kilobytes on this sort of page.

Use your meta-tags

In establishing domain names, you may come across articles, which may suggest not to make use of hyphens on them. You should become aware though that using hyphens on your domain name is not a bad practice. However, you should know that most people these days, are not used to typing domain names on their browsers that come with hyphens. The featured snippets that SEOs have been striving to get are a prime example of how voice search has changed SEO. Optimizing for these snippets requires old school SEO tactics combined with something new. The best directories are the ones that also provide useful information for your potential customers. According to SEO Consultant, Gaz Hall: "Links have always been a valuable aspect of an SEOs strategy, and many SEO agencies focus on building relevant links to get first page search results on Google."

What to do if Your Website is a Victim of Negative SEO

A big part of Search Engine Optimization is optimizing your website to make it easier for visitors to navigate and use. If you don’t know where to submit a guest blog post or what forums would be good to participate on, research where your competitors are going to get links and follow suit. Make sure that the pages on your site are well-linked to each other, particularly the ones you want to appear as sitelinks – Google takes the number of internal/external links into account when judging the importance of pages for sitelinks. Make sure the site makes good use of anchor text in its internal links. This is a free opportunity to inform users and search engines what the various pages of your site are about. Don’t abuse it, though.
